My Favorite Author...

About three years ago I read a book by Emily Giffin called "Love the One You're With" it was one I could not put down 'literally'. When I had finished I went back to the library to check out her other 3 books and they did not have them...so I called Gothenburgs library and drove over that day to get them. I love how Emily Giffin writes and so when the trailers for her "Something Borrowed" movie had been showing, I was so excited! I like to read but I too LOVE movies, and yes I know the movie is NEVER better than the book and because I understand this I don't go in thinking any different. I cannot wait till May 6th when this movie is out and I can watch one of my favorite books on the big screen.

Something Borrowed is about two best friends Rachel and Darcy. Rachel a sweet young attorney ends up sleeping with Darcy's fiance. This book makes you laugh, cry, and even question why a cheater should win true happiness...

Heart of the Matter is about two woman whom live in the same suburb of Boston and how their lifes have very little in common. But one night a tragic accident causes their lives to converge in ways no one could have imagined...

This is Emily Giffins newest book and again one I didn't want to put down...until it fell in the bath tub (guess I should have put it down)

Love the One You're With is a powerful story about Ellen who is at the crossroads of true love or real life...Andy or Leo?

Something Blue is the contiued story of Something Borrowed...it is about Darcy and how her 'perfect life' was lost and how she was completely alone for the first time in her life...with a baby on the way...

Baby Proof is about Claudia and her love Ben whom both decide not to have the traditional First come love...then comes marriage...then comes a baby in a baby carriage. Then the unexpected occurs: and one of them has a change of heart...

G.I. Joe crazy...

Last week Riley was upset at bed time because he had nothing to read so Joe got two of his G.I. Joe books out and told him to read them. Ry was not sure that he wanted to and Joe was thinking they may have been to difficult for him. But Ry was hooked which led Joey into telling the boys they really needed to get the G.I. Joes out of the storage when we go to Broken Bow next weekend. Chandler could hardly take it that he had to wait any longer. When Joe came home from work today he was quite sure that daddy swung through BBow on his way and went to storage.

Grandpa and Gran came to watch Riley play soccer today and surprised the boys with four boxes of G.I. Joe toys. I don't think Grandpa had them all unloaded before the boys where digging into the boxes and pulling out.

There is fortress and battle fields throughout my house and they still have one more box to go through tomorrow and one more next weekend. I am not sure who is having a better time my little boys or my big boy! I love watching them play and imagine.

Big Changes...

Chandler in his new glasses

Chandler and Daddy (where are daddy's glasses at??)

Daddy, Chandler and Mommy

Today we picked up Chandler Mans new glasses. In August the eye dr. had me pick out glasses but then said it was up to me if I wanted to get them or not because he was just on the line of needing them. We decided that it may be more of a problem than not so chose to wait. The Dr. gave us a few things to watch for and since Christmas break I have noticed Chandler doing every single one. So we finally took him back in and it was no longer a choice he had to have glasses. I felt like a bad mom 'why did I wait'? 'how could I have not noticed'? you know all those things that run throughout ones mind. But what can you do-I thought I was making the right choice at the time and he has them now and the doc thinks things will change for Chandler and glasses is going to help greatly for him. When he was told he had to have them there were many tears and even anger but it didn't take long for him to get excited and just could not wait for them to come. The glasses is a big change...but mostly for mommy who gets a reminder every time I look up at him, he is a big boy!

April Fools...

Today being April Fools I had to do something fun for a very forgotten Holiday! Thanks to a face book friend posting a picture of her cupcakes made me remember that I had a great blog saved with this Hamburger and French Fry cupcake recipe. I made them for each of the boys class!

This morning I pulled two great April Fools jokes on my boys. I took a fruit can with a pull top and opened it from the bottom and washed it out.

Then filled it with candy.

Added paper so that the candy would not rattle.

Super Glued the bottom back on so it looked normal. I put one in Joe's lunch for the trip...then with the boys I changed the clocks a hour late and woke them up and told them we were very late for school and had to race out the door. I grabbed them spoons and a "can of fruit" for the road. They jumped in the van and opened, I got them! Then Ry said "mom it is only 7:23am" April Fools got them again! We went out for donuts. It was fun, they ate their words, as last night they were telling Traci and I how boring we were...but today said WE ROCK!!!

Traci and I also played a joke on the kids teachers!

I have gained a greater appreciation for those that work with our children each and every day. They put up with so much that most cannot even begin to dream. So just to lighten the day and add a little laughter to the day, we made these really Yummy chocolate cupcakes, filled with a chocolate cream filling, (a fake bug) in the middle.

Then a peanut butter cup on top with chocolate shavings.

We got some good laughs ourselves when the teachers told us about eating them!
